Cleaning Tips

Quality DME recommends properly cleaning your CPAP equipment regularly.

Since the CPAP machine is in contact with your face every night, bacteria can start to build up. Regular cleaning can help reduce the spread of germs and illnesses such as colds and infections while ensuring you breathe cleaner air. Not cleaning your machine can be harmful since unwanted bacteria/mold and dust/allergens can enter your airway and lungs.

Humidifier Care

A CPAP humidifier is an important accessory that helps to add moisture to the air delivered through your CPAP machine, reducing symptoms such as dry mouth, nose, and throat. By keeping the air moist, a CPAP humidifier can make your CPAP therapy more comfortable and enjoyable.

If you choose to manually wash your humidifier, rinse the tub with distilled water, mild soap and warm water. Set on a flat surface to dry away from direct sunlight.

For a deep cleanse, soak your humidifier tub in a solution of 1-part white vinegar and 1-part water for 15-20 minutes. Rinse thoroughly with warm water after soaking.

Follow these simple steps each month and your humidifier will last you the entire lifetime of your device!

Maintenance Tips

It is essential to take regular care of your CPAP equipment. The durability of replaceable CPAP Supplies depends on your usage, cleaning, and whether the part touches your face. Be sure to check your CPAP Supplies daily for signs of wear and tear.
