Sometimes you just need that mid-day shuteye

What constitutes a “perfect nap”? Some people may nap for hours while others only nap for a few minutes. There has been research done to find out the amount of time that is considered to be a “perfect nap” for the human body.

According to sleep.org, 20-30 minutes is all one needs in order to feel the benefits of napping. These benefits include, but are not limited to, improved alertness, enhanced performance, and a better mood.

If you nap for longer than 30 minutes, it’s likely that you’ll hit the deeper stages of sleep. Hitting these deeper stages will most likely leave you feeling groggy and disoriented after waking up from your nap.

Happy Place

When you do take a nap, make sure you’re napping in your happy place; somewhere quiet, dark, and comfortable. The best time to take one is in the afternoon between 2:00 pm-3:00 pm. People usually start getting tired around that time of day.

Taking a quick nap will help to recharge you and keep you awake and energetic throughout the rest of the day. Make sure not to nap too late because napping close to when you go to bed may make it difficult to fall asleep.
